The Esterházy Chamber Choir celebrate our 25th anniversary over the course of 2017-18. We are putting on a 'Carol-athon' fundraising event on Saturday 9th December at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Dyke Road, Brighton, in which the choir will sing all 50 carols from Carols for Choirs 1! This event is to raise funds to help with our very exciting 25th Anniversary Concert: a performance of Haydn's 'The Creation' with The London Mozart Players and professional soloists in Lewes Town Hall on Sunday 25th March 2018.

The Esterházy Chamber Choir was founded in 1993 and is based in Lewes, East Sussex. Comprising around thirty four experienced singers from a wide variety of backgrounds, the choir aims to perform at the highest standard whilst remaining firmly rooted in the fine English tradition of amateur music making. The group’s repertoire spans four centuries of sacred and secular music with an emphasis on a cappella singing.

As a Registered Charity, the choir strives to make music more accessible to the young by offering free admission to accompanied children at concerts that the choir promotes itself, in particular our popular Christmas concert.

To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we will be performing Haydn's famous oratorio 'The Creation' with the world-renowned orchestra The London Mozart Players and professional soloists in Lewes Town Hall. This will be a wonderful opportunity to hear an iconic masterpiece with a superb orchestra, as well as being a scintillating celebration of 25 years of the choir.

As part of our fundraising strategy, the choir are putting on a 'Carol-athon' event on Saturday 9th December at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Dyke Road, Brighton. For this, the choir will be singing all 50 Carols (with all verses) of Carols for Choirs 1, the great tome of Carols edited and arranged by Reginald Jacques and David Willcocks.

Of course, putting on such an ambitious performance is expensive. All money raised from our fundraising 'Carol-athon' event will go directly into covering our costs for our 25th Anniversary Concert, which in turn will help keep ticket prices down.
