Weʼve raised £140 to Help me get to Uganda

Funded on Saturday, 8th April 2017

    Story

My name is Ethan, I'm 15 years old and a student at Richard Lander school. I have been given an amazing opportunity to go to Uganda with the school, which will provide myself and my friends a taste of the African way of life and a chance to spend quality time with disadvantaged children.

During my time in Uganda I will be working to help the lives of those children whose lives aren't as privileged as ours. By helping to renovate, build, paint schools and orphanages. My school and I will be working on farms and projects including carpentry to build pig pens. We will also be supporting children in ways such as: providing class room assistance and teaching English to primary aged children.

Many people in the country have survived its recent, turbulent past to now live in poverty, without access to clean water, proper education or affordable health care. Our overall aim is to help make their lives happy and improve the conditions in which the students live and the education that ameliorates their future, but mainly I want to; along with my school, support the local community with charity work.

To enable myself to take part in this once in a life time trip I need to raise the money to fund myself to help these children. The overall trip is £2,500 (not including vaccinations) and I would really appreciate it if you could give a small donation to achieve this so I can help change lives for the better.

I have already raised a substantial amount myself by arranging and singing in concerts, cake sales, homemade produce including wrapping paper and cards, and spent 24hrs of eating meals associated with African life.

I will also be holding a coffee morning in my local village in the near future, if your unable to donate today please keep a look out for the coffee morning details which I will update soon!

Ethan, i don't do a mega amount of charity stuff, because it goes to the wrong people/places. This however i get.... i hope you enjoy the experience and future employers take note of your heart.
