Exeter University Boat Club are running our November fundraiser in aid of Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion.

On 11th November 2017 we will be rowing from 10AM-4PM in Princesshay. As a club we are keen on supporting military charities due to the fact that many of our students, alumni, and parents are actively involved with the Armed Forces. Moreover, in light of the event being held on Remembrance Day, we could think of no more appropriate way of showing our respect and thanks to servicemen and women, than to giving to two of the country’s leading military charities. Indeed, The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces communities. The Legion support nearly 36,000 War Disablement Pension cases for war veterans and make around 300,000 welfare and friendship visits every year. Similarly, Help for Heroes help to provide better facilities for British servicemen and women who have been wounded or injured in the line of duty. In partnership with the Ministry of Defence and The Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes run four different recovery centres. These centres are designed to help soldiers overcome sickness and injury, and ultimately return to active duty or transition into civilian life.
