The plan is to raise £5,000.00 for a client who is suffering from spinal code injury due to a fall about 17 months ago. Paralyzed neck down and wheelchair dependent.

He is looking at privately getting a wheelchair accessible van as he cannot get one on motabilty grant. To qualify for one on motability, he has to be on DLA - Higher Rate Mobility Component or PIP- Personal Independence Payment of which he is not due to his age. He is over 65 and one has to be under 65 to be deemed qualified. .

I am deeply concerned about his case as he used to be an active gentle man and now all he does is to seat in front of a mirror looking at himself crying as he cannot do things for himself anymore neither can he go out when he wants to, after much of encouragement he decided to get himself a van but unfortunately he cannot get one on loan from motability and can't afford to get one cash.

It will be a be relief for him and me to see him able to gain some part of his life back, as being able to go out will mean a lot to him, give him some independence and I am relying on the kind people out there who knows and value independent.
