Story
Every day, Calais Kitchens feeds thousands of people living in the camp, providing them with one hot meal a day.
Their basic ingredients include potatoes, onions and tinned food, including tomatoes, chickpeas and kidney beans.
But supplies are running out, and the volunteer cooks at the camp have made a call for urgent donations.
We're responding to this call.
We're raising money to buy the basic items on the list provided by Calais Kitchens, and we'll be taking the food directly to the camp warehouse in Calais in November.
It's been raining in Calais since mid-September, and the camp has started to flood. People are cold and wet, and they're also in danger of going hungry.
Please help! We're counting on your generosity to raise the money to buy these essential supplies.

8 years agoYour amazing generosity has allowed us to raise £1,330 online, and another £700 offline, bringing the total aid to more than £2,000. We'll be using that money to buy essential food supplies. And then we'll drive to northern France to deliver that aid. Although the camp in Calais has been demolished, many refugees, including 1,500 children, remain in the ruins. Volunteers are struggling to feed them. There is also a refugee camp in Dunkirk, where volunteers provide one hot meal a day. Your money will help feed them. Thank you so much.

8 years agoThank you! Thank you! Thank you! You've helped us to reach our target - and even go beyond it! We hope you'll keep giving generously. Because, the more we raise, the more essential food supplies we can buy to take with us. We'll be driving to Calais in November, and delivering to volunteer organisations on the ground. You can follow our progress on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aid2calais/ And thank you again! (pictured: our aid van in the Calais camp in November 2015)

We're a group of family and friends calling ourselves 'Aid Drop to Calais and Dunkirk'. Over the last year, we've raised money to make two aid drops to the camps in France. We've taken warm clothes, tents, sleeping bags and mattresses. Now we're taking emergency food supplies.
