    Story

We're raising money and awareness to help our friend after he was assulted and nearly died in a shop doorway. http://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/news/doncaster-homeless-assault-victim-critical-two-more-arrests-1-8062248 We feel Karl was let down by combination of failures in dealing with his benefits changes, mental health, ill physical health/disabilities and the bedroom tax. Karl was only recently made homelss after being evicted. He blames the bedroom tax. Karl does not like to accept charity, nor to ask for help, which may have contributed to his slip through the increasingly holey net. We need adequate support services and must fight for them. Karl is a gentle friendly dignified soul. Could he be failed yet again and return to the street upon discharge from the hospital? (all being well) We would like to get him more long term support. We hope ideally to raise enough to pay for a room to ensure hes comfortable upon his hospital discharge and we hope you can help us show Karl that it is not a dog eat dog world but that he can trust and accept help in the form of solidarity. This can happen too easily to anyone. Please comment any advice/support you can offer/help with.
