Story
When Sam was 22 she arranged with a group of friend to run for McMillan cancer as she had lost her uncle in his 40’s to Cancer.
Sam was 24 when she became pregnant with her 2nd child, she worked nights as a carer but was unwell, she would pass out or bleed.
Sam could not afford to give up work, so she met with her manager and they agreed to put Sam on days in the office so the work was light and people were with her. Sam was told that if she felt unwell at any time then she was just to let her manager know she would not be in.
Sam gave birth to her son in November, she has a daughter also. On the day she gave birth tests were done to find out why she had been unwell and she was found to have Cancer.
Sam remained positive, she started treatment and at first it did seem that the tumour was shrinking. Then it spread to her lungs, bones and liver. Even now Sam says she will be returning to work, she is so inspirational.
On Sam’s wish list is to get married. We want to raise money for this and to support her family both now and during the months ahead.
Every little given will help this wonderful family that is dealing with so much when they should be enjoying their new baby and their daughter.

7 years agoThank you to those of you who have donated in support of Sam Bagnall, a carer at Summerfield Court. Sam sadly lost her fight against cancer on Sunday morning. Her mum would like to thank everyone for their support and said that Sam passed away peacefully and put up a good fight. The staff at Summerfield are still holding a coffee morning on 17 May, and would encourage others to carry on with any activities you may have planned in memory of Sam. The money raised will go to her family to support them in the weeks ahead.

7 years agoMyself and the staff at Summerfield Court have been touched by the kindness of everyone at H&C21, customers and families of staff who have donated.I started this raising to support Sam to get married, I didn’t know how much we would raise but once I spoke to staff and customers I knew I would be supported. I have phoned Sam’s mom today to tell her that within a few days the kindness of the people that donated has amounted to more than we aimed at bought her to tears. Thank you all Tracey Rogers and the Staff at Summerfield Court.
