Story
We rescued Herbie in November 2015 and while he has not always been easy to deal with due to his anxiety issues we would not change the life we have with him for anything.
Since rescuing him we have been exposed to the world of dog rescue and how many dogs are abused and abandoned across a number of countries. We regularly donate money and items to as many rescues as possible to try to help them in their constant fight to help these innocent animals. However, it never seems enough and we would like to do more for them so we have signed up to a 26 mile walk along the Northumberland Coast in May which has to be done in less than 12 hours. This will be a challenging task but who is going to sponsor us to do something easy?
The two rescues we will be donating the money to are the following:
Team Paw Rescue - this is the rescue that we got Herbie from. They rescue dogs from other countries and the UK and so many of them have been abused, mistreated or simply had no training at all but yet they will always take the time to get to know the dog & ensure that they do the up most to rehabilitate them. They do not put healthy dogs down and will pay for the dog's care when they arrive poorly or injured. Mary is an amazing lady who has saved and rehomed so many dogs and has continued to carry on even when it has had an emotional toll on her. We owe them so much because if it wasn't for this rescue we would never have had the joy of Herbie in our lives.
Romanian Woofers - this rescue helps dogs in Romania that are seriously mistreated and abandoned over there. They are left to starve and freeze to death and are regularly found in the most horrendous states with broken bones, diseases and infections. They are underfed, incredibly underweight and absolutely petrified. Michelle is the lady that runs this and dedicates her life to helping these dogs and doing all that she can for them. We are so happy that we met her at a Vegan festival in the summer of 2017.
They are both such inspirational women who do so much for dogs that without them would not have a chance and so all the money raised will be split between them both. We want to ensure that they continue to help give dogs the hope and love that they deserve.
