    ** UPDATE**

IMPORTANT - The silent football match has been postponed till 2nd April 2022 - due to the current coronavirus situation.

The original target was met within 24 hours and we have increased it in order to continue to support 2 charities we believe tie in with our fundraising - The Laurence Plummer Foundation who help disadvantaged children to access sports & The Kent Deaf Children's Society who organise lovely activities for deaf children in the local community and much more. We will also be purchasing a defibrillator for our training ground.

Freddie is 6 years old and football is his life. He has recently joined a league and is absolutely loving it, however he has moderate bilateral hearing loss and despite every effort from the coaches it is beginning to have a negative impact on his experience due the background noise, wind and acoustics interfering with his hearing aids and making it harder for him to hear. This can be very upsetting and distressing for Freddie. Freddie is not eligible for a Radio Aid from the NHS as it is not for use at school and therefore we as a team have decide to raise the funds to enable him to play the game he loves without limits. The radio aid will clip onto the coaches jacket and the sound will go directly to Freddie’s hearing aids enabling him to hear the direction and encouragement from the coaches that he is currently missing and cancelling out the background noise. Freddie has trained as a part of CWC since he was just 3 and they have been nothing but supportive and accommodating.

To raise money we are organising a ‘sponsored silent football match’ and free kicks will be given out to opposing teams if children are talking, parents will also incur fines for talking! 🤐 this will be on Saturday 2nd April at St Helens School in Cliffe, following onto the Village Club, Cliffe where they will be a raffle, cakes and much more.

Thank you for reading, sharing & sponsoring ☺️

This is amazing!!! Thank you all so so much, as we edge closer to our target I think it’s important to state what extra funds raised will be used for so…. Our aim is to be able to purchase a defibrillator through Cliffe Woods Colts for St Helens school in cliffe. Secondly anything above that will be donated to the Kent Deaf Children’s Society - who do amazing work within the community supporting deaf children. Thank you all so so much!!
