In 2013 we first visited the Arbat Syrian refugee camp in Kurdistan Northern Iraq. What was meant to be a temporary camp has now grown to a permanent one housing over 6,000 displaced Syrians, including 1,700 children.
On our last visit to the camp in 2016, we visited the camp school and we were made aware, that despite their best efforts, the children at the school have no lunches. There just isn't enough food or money to supply them with a school lunch.
Learning is the only thing that allows these children to escape the reality of the daily confinement in the camp, and the horrors of their past. It gives them a glimmer of hope for the future.
Please help us provide these children with school lunches so that they can grow and learn and look to the future.
