    Story

This appeal is to raise urgently needed funding to cover the costs of electrical rewiring, a very costly surveyor’s inspection and repairs to the structure of St Bartholomew’s Church in the ancient hamlet of Nymet Rowland.

Situated deep in the rolling hills of Devon, this historically precious church dates right back in history at least 800 years to the Norman occupation. Since then, the local stone building was extended to include the addition of the tower and south aisle in 1410. This simple yet beautiful church contains some important and very rare features. Including a Norman font and three structural wooden arcades, dated to circa 1450. Such arcades are only found in one other church in Devon.

Please give generously, so that we can ensure this irreplaceable example of the Nation’s heritage is available for future generations to treasure. Thank you for caring and your generosity.
