Our oldest member, who still proudly attends is a mere 96 years old! We rely on volunteers and pockets of funding to survive, we have no paid salaries and no full time staff. To keep our organisation running we organise raffles, auctions and stalls at community events to raise funds.
Christmas and New Year, with all its cheer and merriment can be a very lonely time if you are elderly and living alone, we would like to bring a little bit of joy into the approaching festive season for the older people in our local community. Please help us treat 40 older people to a trip to Hackney Empire Theatre to see the winter Pantomime Cinderella in December 2017.
As our members age their social activities and finances change and sadly due to their reduced mobility and lack of reliable transportation they find it difficult to attend activities like this without our help.
Each matinee panto ticket at Hackney Empire costs £36.50. Without your help our elders could not go, they will contribute £7 each, we, Amanda Inniss and Tracey Boothe have raised £500. Everyone will also receive a Christmas snack bag and a bottle of water.
40 tickets x £36.50 = £1460
Elders contribution 40 x £7 = £280
Money already raised by Friends of Woodberry Down = £500
We require a further £900 to make our panto dream a reality.
Please help us create a December to remember, thank you very much!!
