    Story

The man, the myth, the legend.

Well I don't know about the myth but Isaiah Kosgei is certainly a legendary fella. After a hugely successful marathon career he moved back to Kenya and poured all his earnings from running into his local community; founding King Davids Academy. A hugely successful not-for-profit primary school, it is committed to giving kids who otherwise couldn't dream of such a quality education, if an education at all, a future. Visiting King David's was always a highlight of my trips to Kenya and it is fantastic to see the school population of over 100 continuing to grow.....

...so that brings us to the point. Kosgei has been rolling back the years and hitting the dirt trails of Iten (getting the 80+ miles in) in preparation for his next big running adventure- the Loch Ness Marathon. On the 23rd September Kosgei will make the long trip to the UK to do battle on the Scottish trails, and like every Kenyan runner (even one coming out of retirement) he is there to win.

The real reason for this is to help raise money to build 2 new buildings at King Davids to hold a classroom, library and improved food prep areas. This really will help to change the lives of the amazing kids living in the remote Rift Valley area of Segero. You never know, your support might help produce the next Isaiah Kosgei!

Thank you for our amazing support so far!! It really is humbling and makes such an incredible difference. Kosgei has arrived home to see his family after his Scottish adventures and can get down to work at the school. Speaking of work at the school we want to go one better. £500 can help build semi-permanent structures that will help really improve the lives of the kids there. But we would love to raise £1000 to add two permanent classrooms to the school and change those lives forever 👌
