    Story

    Melissa IS HOME!!!!
I am updating this fundraising page with a challenge. Although Melissa is now home recovering in her own home, her and her family have been left with a huge medical bill over three times the £5000 target.

The challenge is to reach the target by asking for donations of 50p. Over six thousand people have viewed the page, if we all share and donate 50p we will smash the target and help Melissa and her family.

A huge thank you goes out to all who have already donated :)

Melissa Pegg has suffered a fractured/broken hip as a result of a road accident whilst on holiday in Zante with her partner, who broke an arm which needs to be operated on. He was deemed fit to fly by a doctor and so got his return flight to the UK to have is operation at home. Had he stayed in Zante he may have been there for weeks before being able to fly so he had to make the heart breaking decision to leave Melissa to return to be treated.
Melissa however is not fit to fly on a passenger plane as she has to remain led flat on a bed. Medical staff in Zante have advised she will most defiantly need an operation and so could be out there for months before she is fit to fly home.
As you can imagine this is a horrendous ordeal, the language barrier is very tough, the cost of parents staying with her are tremendous, not to mention the standard of care and all other implications.
We doing everything in our power to get Melissa home so she can get the treatment and support she needs here in the UK. As mentioned Melissa is not able to fly on a commercial airliner, she would need a specially adapted plane which will accommodate her on a stretcher. This comes at a huge cost (not covered by insurance) we have set a target of £5000 to get things started, the totally will come to several times that but we are sure that we will meet the financial demands and get Melissa home.

MELISSA IS HOME!!!!! I am so happy to be writting this update as I am able to tell you that Melissa is back on home soil. Thanks to all the help and support of family, friends and medical staff Melissa was able to fly back to the UK yesterday. She is now in a hospital much closer to home where she can be more comfortable and get the treatment she needs. There is still a long way to go for her to make a complete recovery and the cost of getting Melissa home will take some time to repay.
