As a self-trained chainsaw carver, Garry Shand has been delivering unique and sought-after wooden sculptures to the people of Aberdeenshire and beyond for the past 10 years. As some of you might have seen on Facebook, Garry suffered a fire at his workshop today which has caused devastating damage. All of his tools, chainsaws, materials and months of current projects have been destroyed as well as the premises themselves.

I have set up this Just Giving page as so many of you have reached out so kindly to Garry already and offered your support. If every one of his Facebook followers donated just £1, Garry would have enough to begin to rebuild his business and reclaim his livelihood.

I, along with many others, feel that Garry is far too talented to let such a terrible disaster stop him doing what he loves and providing people with his unique and wonderful works of art.
