We are the GB women’s Canoe Polo team. We are currently in training for the European Championships which will be held in St Omer (France) at the end of August. In a typical week, we will be training up to 8 times with a blend of on the water fitness, gym sessions and game skill training. All of us fit this around our full time jobs and education.

As a sport, we receive very little funding and as such for the players involved it can get very expensive. A new kayak costs us approx. £1500 each, paddles can be £300 and we would usually get through a boat per season not to mention all the other kit we have to buy! Throughout the summer, we are travelling to competitions across Europe to represent GB most weekends and ferry, fuel, accommodation and food costs really stack up.

We are fundraising now to go towards the cost of Europeans (£350 each). All funds raised will be split equally between team members and will really help us out with the champs. Any help and support you can give us will be greatly appreciated and will help get us to the champs!

We will be selling cakes at the playoff weekend in Nottingham.

We are working on getting a raffle together where we will be selling tickets to win some prizes - watch this space.
