My dear friend Samuel Thomas has been unable to walk for 8 months. After a long history of knee problems including 3 kneecap dislocations, 2 meniscus tears, a full quadricep tear and an ankle tear he has had to undergo 2 rounds of surgery and is now on the long road to recovery. Anyone who knows Sam personally knows how positive he has been throughout all of this despite his setbacks. He has inspired a lot of people through his courage and strength.

Sam is a massive Cardiff City fan and although he hasn't been well recently, he has still consistently travelled up and down the country each week to follow his team on their automatic promotion chase. It has been 16 months (and counting) since Sam last kicked a football and I want to make sure he has a shiny new pair of boots for his awaited comeback for the Computer Science 6-a-side team at University of Birmingham.
