Weʼve raised £5,230 to Get Cohen Going

    Story

Imagine if you were unable to go where you wanted, when you wanted. Unable to move in the direction you wanted because you can’t communicate why you want to go in that direction. Or unable to explore your surroundings because your disability doesn’t allow it. This is Cohens day to day.

Cohen is turning 12 in September. He has a very rare, degenerative, genetic condition which leaves him unable to walk amongst various other complications. It’s an ageing conidition and ultimately means he won‘t live a very long life. We want him to enjoy every single minute he spends with us and live his precious life to the fullest.

Cohen is now at an age where we want him to have some more independence, as does he. His brother has the same condition so when they go out with just one adult, which is a good majority of the time, he has to sit in a double Maclaren pushchair which he is FAR too big for and is super uncomfortable in. We also live in an area that is famous for its beach and wonderful countryside, none of which Cohen gets to experience because hes limited by his wheelchair.

We want to get Cohen a powered wheelchair that is able to take him on all-terrain surfaces so he can experience some freedom whilst having his independence. The chair we want to get him is in the photo above. It‘s a Trekinetic GTE Mk II All Terrain Powerchair and the cost is £12,107.

Please could you share this page so we can Get Cohen Going as soon as we can.

Thank you. Cohen‘s mum and dad x

Thank you so much everyone! With the support of Cleveland Classics Netball Club, Amy and Friends, B O Davies Charitable Trust, The Teesside Family Foundation, Carl Eaton and all of YOU wonderful and very generous donators we’re now in the most amazing position to be able to get Cohen his chair! We are so, so thankful to everyone. His chair will take minimum 3 months to arrive so hopefully you’ll see an independent Cohen in 2022 (probably running a few people over and clipping some ankles but it’ll be worth it!).
