In Oct 2012, our twins, Thomas and Mia Brown were born 107 days too soon.

Unfortunately, shortly after birth, Thomas suffered severe brain bleeds which has resulted in a number of disabilities, his main one being Cerebral Palsy.
After a life & death battle, we finally brought the twins home in Feb 2013

We are grateful for the support of our friends, family and local charities to provide Thomas with some of the essential equipment he desperately needed but we don't want to ask them to donate anymore.

We are now hoping to find businesses and charities who can help us to convert our house to be accessible to Thomas.

Thomas is mobile but unable to walk or climb stairs.

Recent meetings with architects have made plain the scale of the task ahead.
A downstairs living grant might just about cover the cost of the building work to make our house suitable for Thomas's needs, but not the equipment, we and his carers need to look after him on a daily basis.

The biggest single item cost in our planned conversion is a though floor lift.

The back story :-(

Thomas' mum is a special needs teacher and through her dedicated input Thomas has surpassed all expectations. The unexpected early arrival of the twins meant by the time they came home, Jo had to take unpaid mat leave before returning to work part time.

I work in Television as a freelance video editor.
In 2014 I worked a company in Mediacity who unfortunately went into liquidation owing us a lot of money.

Since then, we've struggled to keep the family home, let alone start work on a disabled conversion, we cannot afford to move to a more suitable local property as bungalows round here cost a bomb :-(

With 4 children in 4 different local schools, we love where we live and we love our house, it is just unsuitable for Thomas's needs.

This lift would enabled us to redesign the family home to make Thomas needs central to family life
