Weʼve raised £170 to Build a stable for an injured horse, to give him a home and keep off the streets and prevent cruelty.

    Story

Last week we were called out to Aourir as a horse was lying on the beach and couldn't get up.

When we arrived MAA volunteers had already done their best to coax the horse up and he was back on it's feet.

The horse had a severe infection to the leg as its feet were tethered which left gaping, open wounds. He had wire wrapped so badly around his leg, he would have died if he hadn't of received immediate medical care.

With the help of friends and volunteers we managed to put the horse in one of the volunteers back gardens, where our volunteer veterinarian injected antibiotics and painkillers as the situation was critical. The wound cleaning took hours and the horse is still suffering and in a lot of pain.

We have named the horse Brownie, and are now setting up a stables he can permanently be, so he doesn't have to be roaming around the streets and subjected to the cruelty he has already faced. Here he can have a home, food, and people who will love and care for him.

    Every pound counts. Thank you.

Guys, Im pleased to let you know that we moved this dear horse into his stable yesterday so now he has a place he can call his home. He is walking on all 4 legs now, but still on limited exercise. He looks great and we're hoping in a couple of months he will be able to be exercised properly. He is still very untrusting but we're hoping that will just take a bit of time to sort out. We still need funds, so anything you can do to help would be appreciated

Thanks to your generous donations - the stable build has started, we still need just a tiny bit more for the roof, doors and labour... I saw Brownie today and whilst his leg is still looking very sore he is now able to put weight on it and he is walking well which is a great step forward. His mouth has now healed perfectly so we're hoping for a full recovery....
