Welcome to Glasgow Streetmates.

Our volunteers rely purely on donations and we self fund. Our donations stock is getting low and coming up to the coldest months of the year we are hoping to keep up supplies to hand out .

We personally contribute each week, but as the weather gets colder we need items such as gloves, hats, scarves, sleeping bags, thermal layers and emergency blankets. We are at our limit of what we can afford.

In December last year a young man froze to death in a shop doorway on Argyle Street. We will do our bit to try prevent a repeat of that this year. This should not be happening on our doorstep in 2017.

Our team is growing from strength and strength and each volunteer who gives up their time or someone who hands us donations it all adds up. Those who come out say it is a very eye opening experience. While a lot of folk walk by we stop and give hot drinks and food, a friendly chat and aknowledge they are still a human being with feelings. They are at rock bottom. The only way is up but everyone needs a helping hand and a bit of kindness shown to them regardless of their circumstance.

I couldn't survive a Scottish winter outside. Could you? I struggle if my heating thermostat goes below 19 degrees.

Without the support of the public we could not continue to help and as winter approaches we are very short on supplies.

Here’s what we’re doing about it ...

Donations will be spent on winter essentials to help rough sleepers/ homeless get through the coming cold winter months And hopefully a night in hostel .

We will continue to hand out each week to glasgow in rain , hail or snow ,we will make sure we make living outside a little easier for Glasgow's rough sleepers & homeless.
