    Story

SO FAR WE HAVE RAISED £3500 FROM ON/OFFLINE DONATIONS. YOUR SUPPORT OF THIS CLUB IS INCREDIBLE, THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!

This year, Glasgow University Boat Club will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary. We are reaching out to Alumni and Friends of the Club to help celebrate this landmark by purchasing a new coxed 4 boat. Unfortunately the Club has had to rent and borrow Coxed 4s from other Clubs to ensure we can perform throughout the year and into Henley season. The Club has recently shown success through its BUCS medals, Scotland representation, highest place finishes at HoRR/WEHoRR and taking on international crews at HRR/HWR (with a HWR Final).

The Club will be taking on challenges in order to help raise funds. We will be running a Boat Club Triathlon on 28th May and the full Club will be rowing the distance from Glasgow to Henley on 5th June.

The boat will mark the Clubs past, present and future ambitions and will cement the legacy of what it means to row at GUBC.

Every donation towards this cause is greatly appreciated by the Club. Donations over £50 will mean that your name will be placed on the side of the boat as an everlasting mark of all those who helped celebrate the Clubs 150th (please put the name you would like on the side of boat on your donation).

Thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign so far. The Triathlon was a great day all round that takes us closer to our target. We are currently around 25% of the way there due to the offline donations made by some Alumni. On Monday 5th June, our campaign continues as the Club will row over 530km from Glasgow to Henley.
