My name is Meg Neilan and I have recently set up Golden Years which is a community based group offering a wide range of activities and events for our older community to get involved in, with the main aim of helping to reduce loneliness and isolation.
I am passionate about encouraging our older community to make the most of opportunities that arise and to live the fullest life they can. I take great pride in fascilitating a variety of opportunities to cater for many different interests and ambitions and believe that an individual is never too old to experience excitement and happiness.
I have worked with the elderly for 10 years and have been lucky enough to be inspired by some amazing characters who taught me to know no boundaries and to dream big. So, my dream for Golden Years is to one day have our own minibus that can open up a whole world of opportunities and experiences for the older people in our community as they celebrate the Golden Years of life.

Any donations or contributions towards helping me build up this community group, which i am beyond proud of due to how it is already helping to make a positive impact on people's lives would be hugely appreciated and will go towards the following:

•expenses for volunteer drivers to help transport people to/from events

• supplies such as games, music, craft items general supplies for friendship groups

•advertising to help get word out to the people who are most at risk of isolation

• free events such as christmas parties for those who are on their own

•Specialised training for Golen Years volunteers such as Dementia Awareness so that we can provide more support within the community
