For a long time the people of Ide, Devon have yearned for a large open outdoor space to meet in groups to engage in recreational activities. So when the opportunity came to acquire a flat, six acre field on the edge of the village the Parish Council determined to do just that. Fast forward to April 2021 and the Option Agreement to purchase the land has been signed meaning there is now just the small matter of raising the money to purchase the land and then add the facilities to it.

On the 19th June 2021 we will be holding a sponsored cycling challenge at the Huntsman Pub in the Village. Members of the local football team (Ide Green Rovers) will be cycling the 180 miles (which is the distance from Ide to Wembley Stadium in London) on an exercise bike. Come along to cheer the team on, bacon butties will be served in the morning and I'm sure Colin will keep everyone refreshed throughout the day.
