This is a plea for help from firefighters at Penzance Fire Station, Cornwall.

Everyone will have been shocked by the scenes at the Grenfell Tower fire in London in June and we at Penzance Community Fire station were looking for a way to help some of our colleagues from London Fire Brigade who attended and experienced this harrowing incident first hand and who may be struggling with the after effects.

We are aiming to organise an activity/teambuilding weekend in beautiful Cornwall for some of the London Fire Brigade Firefighters who first attended the scene to aid with any issues they may have as an after effect of their experiences at this incident. As a firefighter I understand that sometimes the best therapy is achieved by spending time with colleagues who have had similar experiences. We wish to help them achieve this away from their usual working environment.


We are looking for local businesses or residents to help with raising money to pay for accommodation, food and activities. Any support would be gratefully received.

We will be running a car wash and ladder climb in the Wharfside shopping centre in the near future to try and help raise funds as well.

Any donations big or small will be gratefully received.

Any funds not used for this weekend will be distributed to the Firefighters Charity to ensure the money continues to help those firefighters who need it.
