    Story

Many people living in the rural areas of Bangladesh migrate to the cities to seek work in order to earn a living to provide for their families. This means that many families end up living in slums without access to clean water and sanitation and the children do not have access to schooling.

Our charity focuses on working in the rural areas to provide education to the children and their parents, access to health care and training and support to set up their own businesses to provide themselves with an income to support their families in the villages.

Any money that is raised for our charity goes directly to our projects as all the people who work in our charity are volunteers. We have three Trustees/Directors who utilise their business skills to ensure that we operate efficiently and keep good governance of our projects.

So, less than a week to go … I hope the weather is a bit better next week! Been out training at the weekend and although managed to go out when it was dry, the trans pennine trail was extremely muddy in places. Regretted not wearing more protective gear on the Saturday as came back rather grimy!!

So cycled 55 miles to hear Mike play at Cholmondeley Castle, only to find that you can't access the estate from the recommended cycle route. And yes, I know, it is only 37 miles from Manchester, but on my own, with a phone not working - I did get a teensy weensy bit lost and ended up taking a 10 mile detour at one point on the advice of another cyclist who was trying to be helpful! Anyway, got to the estate, which was my aim, didn't get to hear Mike play - ended up in pub waiting for him to collect me! ;-
