Hi! My name's Emily, and I'm looking to raise £1500 to cover the costs of joining members of my church and local community on a mission trip to work with the charity 'Hands at Work' in South Africa for two weeks in July and August 2017.

I would love to have been able to cover the costs myself, however as I am unable to work due to my health conditions I am unable to do so. I never thought I'd be able to do something like this due to the physical aspects of the work, but fortunately this particular trip allows me to support the local communities in need in many ways that would not detriment my health.

Working with ‘Hands at Work’ we will be supporting vulnerable and orphaned children, allowing them to remain in the community with a local caregiver (such as a grandmother, an aunt, or an elder sibling). We will provide not only access to food, education and basic healthcare but essential emotional and social support which is often lacking despite other charities’ best intentions.
