Story
A stroke is caused by the blood supply being cut off to the brain. A stroke is a medical emergency and requires medical treatment immediately. The quicker someone is treated can make an incredible difference to their recovery and can even mean the difference between life and death. Sunderland Royal Hospital's Stroke Unit looked after my Dad following his stroke in October and continue to play an essential role in his after care which has been second to none. I'm running the Great North Run in September and I would be so grateful for any sponsors to help to raise money that I will donate to the unit to help with the amazing work that they already do.
