Hi i am Hannah and i am participating on a school trip to visit Sri Lanka, with a charity called Partner Schools which gives students like me, the opportunities to spend time with less-fortunate children who do not have access to what we have, such as technology, education and even housing and jobs. By going there, my team and I will discover their every day challenges and cultural differences, while enhancing our life skills and teaching us a different perspective of life. We will bring supplies and food, such as colouring pencils and books, to aid the children’s education. Partner schools also let us create projects, such as building new playgrounds and mixing with the school children.

I think it is important to see children and families that come from ethnically different backgrounds and areas; third-world countries to really see what differences there are and what things we take for granted.

I have had to raise all of the money for my travels by my self, as it is a charity organised trip. I need to raise a minimum of £2000 for the charity to qualify for the trip . My final push to raise the rest of the money, is to take a challenge that will push me well out of my comfort zone. I am cycling the Shipwrights way which is 50miles from Bentley to Hayling Island. I have never cycled such a long distance like this, so It will be a stretching challenge, that I am keen to do.

I also plan to give half the money raised to the Rare Chromosome Charity which raises money and awareness to help children with disabilities caused by chromosome abnormalities. As you know, this is very close to my heart as Ed has a rare chromosome misprint.
