- Funded on Friday, 3rd November 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
'Broadstairs Harbour & Seafront group' has been working since 2015 to renovate the harbour area and in particular the old boathouse.
All the work is undertaken by volunteers who try and fit in time around their own busy working lives. So far we have almost completed two sides and recently installed a new set of stairs at both ends thanks to a large donation of hard wood from 'Burbridge' timber merchants and the skills of Dave Adams a local carpenter.
The west facing side was the first to receive attention with a total overhaul of all fixtures such as the whale bones, Hercules and RNLI boards. The Scotsman was sent to students at East Kent College who gave him a well deserved makeover.
Many of the exterior face boards were rotten and were taken off one by one, replaced with new timber, treated and painted.
Unfortunately the pot of money has almost run out therefore we are again asking amazing people to donate towards an amazing old building.
With your help the work will continue.
