Chorley Woman's Center is to me a vital part of the community. It supports women from all walks of life and who come from a variety of different backgrounds. To some women, the center is their lifeline; a place where support can be found in the form of compassionate volunteers and or professional counselors, bringing light to the darkest of places and a small glimmer of hope that eventually things might turn out ok. The center is a charity and like most charities relies on donations to keep it running. This is the reason behind me doing this. Most of you will probably know that due to a variety of different things it has been a tough year. Volunteering at the Woman's Center has helped me so much in getting back on my feet; giving me a reason to leave the house; a sense of purpose; positivity and light in what has, at times, been a very dark place. That is why I am doing something I don't like doing; something that makes me feel very uncomfortable and asking people to help me in supporting this wonderful charity. They have done so much for me that my desire to help them continue running long into the future, overrides my fear of asking you wonderful people for help.
