We three girls of Nottinghamshire are,

going to the dales to walk very far,

raising some money for cats who are lonely

giving them a bright new start.

The Skiathos Cat Welfare Association has for many years provided shelter, food and most importantly love to hundreds of cats on the Greek island of Skiathos. Due to sad and unforeseen circumstances, the charity's home is being put up for sale and around 200 cats face being out in the cold this Christmas, also putting the chance to help the cats on the island in the future in jeopardy. A number of tiny kittens and blind cats are currently in the charity's care; the prospect of these vulnerable cats having to spend the cold wet winter outside does not bear thinking about.

The cost to purchase a new premises for the charity could be in the region of £150,000, which is a substantial amount of money. However, with the help and support of animal lovers around the world, we are confident that we can reach the target and find a brand new home where the cats can be safe and cared for.

Becky, Cara and I will be heading to mine and Becky's homeland of Derbyshire on 17th February 2018 to walk the approximately 22 mile route from 'The Cat and Fiddle' near Buxton, down through the valleys and dales of the Peak District to Ilam...dressed as cats! Yes it will be cold and yes it will be humiliating, but any amount of money you can spare for this great cause, no matter how small, would be so very much appreciated to help secure the future of the vulnerable cats of Skiathos.
