Iʼve raised £968 to help donate to those in need in Calais
- Ramsgate, United Kingdom
- Funded on Friday, 18th September 2015
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Myself and Matthew Brown (editor of the Thanet Star) would like to be able to go across to Calais with donations of food, clothes, shoes and other basic resources and equipment that are so desperately needed by the asylum seekers currently stuck in Calais. There are women and children also there in a separate camp with men in a separate camp. We would like to be able to buy supplies to be able to take across to help those in desperate need of our help

9 years agoA big thank you to everyone who has pledged. I spent 2 days in Calais this week and I have much clearer views on what is needed and I can say I will make sure every penny is spent on things that are most needed. We shall be re-opening a new fundraising for ongoing donations as this will be a long term thing in Calais so all your support is appreciated, please check out East Kent facebook group and event for further updates when this goes live and help spread the word. There is so much that is needed so we can do with as much support from all friends, family, colleagues, social groups. Again thank you so much to everyone you have shown great support and compassion in a time of need, now lets push our next one further and start putting what was raised to much needed use!! Thank you!!!!!!

9 years agoI'd like to just say wow. I never expected such generosity and compassion from so many people. You guys give me great admiration so please accept all my gratitude. I can't stress enough that 100% of what we raise will go directly to buying food/resources/supplies

9 years agoA massive thank you to everyone who has pledged. We have reached our goal but let's not stop there. The more people who donate the more we are able to buy to provide much needed tents/sleeping bags/waterproofs and more. You have all shown compassion and solidarity so thank you

Ramsgate, United Kingdom
I live in Ramsgate which is in the South East of Kent, just a 25 minute drive from Dover. I have watched this humanitarian crisis continue and I for one would like to help these people so desperate for help and our compassion.
