Story
Andy Ashmore an ambulance technician for East Midlands Ambulance Service, husband and father of two, needs a life changing operation to close a hole in his heart (patent foramen ovals).
This condition has resulted in Andy suffering two strokes over the past two years and unfortunately the last stroke has left him with permanent speech problems.
This type of surgery is not available on the NHS and will cost Andy and his family around £10,000. Surgery needed to prevent further strokes.
Andy has devoted his life and career to helping others, serving 24 years on the ambulance’s frontline and being with his patients during some of the best and worst moments of their life.
We are hoping to raise some of the much needed funds needed to help with his operation and rehabilitation.

My daughter was born with a PFO which, thankfully, resolved itself. I wish you all the best! From an EMD at HP EOC.
