A Sri Lankan Seventeen year old girl, Wasana Neshadi Samarakoon met with a near fatal accident on 21st April 2017. A heavy vehicle carrying sand plows on to her three-wheeler vehicle she was travelling in, and a metal rod have pierced through her skull. Unfortunately, her cousin brother who was travelling with her died during the accident. After the accident, bystanders thought both youngsters have died and covered them with a cloth. Fortunately, there has been some sudden movement of Wasana’s hand. So, they have rushed her to the nearest hospital for treatment. The local hospital was unable to help her due to her severity of injuries. So, she was taken again to the main hospital intensive care. After a major surgery and miraculous efforts of the hospital staff, she has been saved.

Since the accident her father has looked after her, with the little resources he has. He is a day to day labor worker, who does not have a permanent job. Her mum is under medical treatment, due to her failing two kidneys. Wasana has an elder sister, who is going through university education at Kaleniya University and Wasana’s younger sister is studying for her GCSE exams.

Prior to the accident, Wasana has completed her GCSE exams and managed to archive excellent results of eight A grades and a Pass for English. She is a bright, charming girl who had a lovely future ahead of her. She is a quite a determined individual, who is willing to start her A/L science subjects by returning to school education again.

Since the accident, she is recovering well, but require many more years of medical support and guidance. Wasana’s mum and dad is finding it very difficult to support Wasana. I would like to raise some money towards her recovery and betterment. Any little contribution we can provide her will help Wasana to continue with her life ambitions and help her poor family.
