My dearest childhood friend has been battling cancer for a while in Ghana. Unbeknownst to close friends, she has been fighting alone as she does not want to burden anyone with her financial stresses. We all know how devastating hearing the news that a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer can be. But suffering alone in silence is even worse especially if you find yourself in a part of the world where treatment, where accessible, is very costly and almost unaffordable.
