This is Mikolaj, he was born on the 2nd of June 2017, and in his short 8 months of life has been diagnosed with cancer.

On the 8th of January he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer. It was also discovered in genetic testing, that he has the positive MYCN gene, this is very rare in babies, and causes healthy cells to turn into cancerous ones, making Mikolaj fight a long and hard battle.

Due to the gene turning healthy cells into cancerous ones he will also have to undergo unusually strong chemotherapy, then once he has completed this he will require a bone marrow transplant. The transplant will be required to ensure that all the cancerous cells in his body are killed off.

Once these two treatments have been concluded, he will then require a third and final one to make sure the cancer cannot return, and it is third and final treatment where I need your help.

The treatment required is called GD2 and it is an immunotherapy, it works by taking immune cells from the blood and changes them so they can attack the cancer cells. This treatment, at present, is unavailable in Poland and will require taking Mikolaj to Germany, where it will need to be paid for privately but is very expensive at present the treatment would costs around £200 000.

As Mikolaj's godmother I cannot standby and do nothing to help, which is why I have opened this page for him, to help get the funds needed for his parents to make the trip and to ensure he has a chance at life.
