Story

Title: "Breaking the Silence: Can You See Me - Empowering Survivors, Transforming Lives"

In the heart of Sierra Leone, a silent crisis persists, one that the world often overlooks. Adolescent girls, victims of heinous acts such as female genital mutilation (FGM), rape, and child exploitation, suffer in silence due to societal norms that tolerate these atrocities. The abuse they endure is not always seen for what it is – a grave harm that scars not just their bodies but also their minds.

In response to this urgent need, we launch the "Can You See Me" crowdfunding campaign, aiming to raise £10,000 to provide therapeutic services for these courageous young survivors. Our mission is to break the shackles of stigma and bring healing directly to the communities where these girls live, transforming their lives and empowering them to reclaim their futures.

**The Urgency of the Cause:**

Acceptable social norms surrounding these traditional harmful abuses contribute to a reluctance to recognize and address the trauma faced by survivors. The lack of specific therapeutic services in Sierra Leone exacerbates the mental health challenges these girls endure daily.

**Our Vision:**

Led by the experiences of survivors who understand the pain of exclusion, the "Can You See Me" campaign seeks to bridge the gap in mental health services for adolescent girls in three communities with high prevalence rates of abuse in Sierra Leone.

**Empowering Through Therapy:**

Your generous donations will enable us to provide 6-12 sessions of specialized therapy and support directly to these resilient girls. By bringing mental health practitioners specializing in adolescent girls' mental health to their own communities, we aim to create a safe space for healing and transformation.

**Your Impact:**

Every donation, regardless of its size, contributes to breaking the silence, shattering stigma, and offering a lifeline to these survivors. The £10,000 target will cover the costs of a dedicated team to deliver and manage this crucial project, ensuring that no girl is left behind.

**Join Us in Making a Difference:**

By supporting the "Can You See Me" campaign, you become a beacon of hope for these girls, showing them that they are seen, heard, and valued. Your contribution has the power to change lives, fostering resilience, strength, and a brighter future for those who have endured unimaginable pain.

Together, let's break the silence and empower these girls to reclaim their voices, their dignity, and their lives. Donate today and be a part of this transformative journey. Can You See Me?
