    Story

Every young girl has the dream of finding their prince and living happily ever with their gorgeous children playing in the garden. Whilst we sit watching. A loving happy family. My dream of this was crushed when i turned 17 in 2005 after my periods stopped i attended my local GP and was referred to gynecology at the Queens Medical Centre. I went through various test from blood tests to check hormones levels to ultra-sound scans on my tummy to scan for eggs. The blood tests returned showing that i had low estrogen levels and that the follicles on my ovaries were growing and dying before they were able to release My eggs.

Premature ovarian failure — also known as primary ovarian insufficiency — is a loss of normal function of your ovaries before the age of 40. If your ovaries fail, they don't produce normal amounts of the hormone estrogen or release eggs regularly. Infertility is a common result.

I was then diagnosed with Early Menopause at the age of 18.

After the result came i never heard any more from the hospital regarding further treatment. Even after myself and my Parents chased it up. I had been pushed to the back of their records and forgotten about.

As time went on it was something that eventually had a long term effect on me. When i was younger i didn't fully understand what was being told to me and tried to keep it at the back of my mind. But as I Grew older that nurturing feeling started to come seeing my friends settle down and have children. And it was getting stronger. I never spoke to anyone about my situation as i was ashamed and embarrassed that i wasn't a real woman as i couldn't have children so to speak. I Went through various relationships and never became pregnant hoping i would have a miracle and i was fine. Years passed and the feeling became stronger for children I began to open up to a very close friend at the time who helped me understand what was happening. I again attended the fertility clinic at Nottingham QMC. Where I went through the same procedure as before to have the same outcome.

It was confirmed at the age of 20 i had officially entered into premature ovarian failure and couldn't conceive children naturally.

I Waited and Waited for a response from the gynecology department but again there was problems they had lost my results.

It wasn't until i met the love of my life that i felt yes this is my time the love of my life. one person i could talk to about anything. I told ryan back in 2009 the issues that had occurred. It was tough for him to understand at first but we spoke and he soon came round to the fact i couldn't bare him a child naturally and that we would need medical help. We let our relationship flourish and develop and went to visit my local gp to be reffered for Ivf.

Invitro fertilization (IVF) is one of several techniques available to help people with fertility problems have a baby. During IVF, an egg is removed from the woman's ovaries and fertilized with sperm in a laboratory. The fertilized egg, called an embryo, is then returned to the woman's womb to grow and develop. It can be carried out using your eggs and your partner's sperm, or eggs and sperm from donors.

It is a stressful procedure where i have to make daily visits for scans and injections and eventually learn to inject hormones myself. Once conceived i have to attend regular scans and checks to ensure the safety of myself and my unborn child.

    This was our chance,

our Gp Referred us to Nurture Fertility clinic in the Qmc, we spoke to a consultation there who explained the procedures and how different treatments help. When it came to going through my records there was now Hrt (Hormone replacement Treatment) Put in place for me and there was a huge risk to my body to continue with IVF. I was sent away to get the correct treatment and procedures completed. I wasn't happy with my GP so i moved to a different surgery and met an amazing doctor there. He was furious at the nhs for the mistreatment i had endured through the last 10 years. His first point of call was my bones. Due to a lack of Hormones my bones were at immediate risk and i could have developed osteoporosis which is brittle bones that are easily damaged. they had to send me for a full body bone scan to check the density of my bones. There was a risk i would never be able to carry and if i did fall pregnant my unborn child could put me at risk of being in a wheelchair.

Once the scan was completed i was so scared to receive my results i just sat there staring at the envelope when it arrived. I grew the courage to open it and was ecstatic. After 10 years of no treatment my bones were normal as normal as any other woman. The GP referred me to the early menopause clinic where i met with a consultant who immediately started me onto hrt Elleste duet tablets. This would increase the level of estrogen in my body. We have had a tough journey through the Nhs and my current Gp has been my saviour he has supported us and ensured i have had the correct treatment that i needed. He gave us more hope. We are currently undergoing yet again more tests to complete an ivf course and cant wait until the day that our very own little baby joins us in this world. Unfortunatly my eggs are not possible to be used so we have to use an egg donor.

We are raising £2000 to help us towards cost of private Ivf as the Qmc have got no where with our Lifelong Dream. Every Woman deserves that chance and the Nhs took Away 10 years of my chances to have my Dream. Now my chance is through Private.

Please help us to meet our target to reach our dream of a family. Any Donation no matter how big or small will make a massive difference and would be greatly appreciated by us both.
