Story
I am Chairperson of our Local Community Group. Several years ago the District Council removed all the small play areas around the Ladies Estate and left the area without any play equipment for the under 8 year olds.
Our aim is to build an area of modern equipment for the up to eights in the Harriet Martineau Play Area. The land is now owned by the Town Council and we are working in partnership to achieve our goal. There is plenty of room for the proposed scheme so we could start to build it as soon as we have the match funding in place. The total cost will be in the region of £36,000.00 and we have so far raised a third of the total.
But time is running out to get the equipment at this price. What we need are a lot of people to give a little bit. So please dig deep and help our Children to have a better life through play.
