Hi Folks! We are the Hobgoblin Nomads, the premier (and only) cricket team in the sacred land of New Cross. We play recreationally on Sundays throughout the Summer and pride ourselves on offering competitive games for players of all abilities, sourced from across South London. We actively play the game with a gentlemanly spirit and the ethos that everyone gets a decent participation in every game - something that is rare amongst most cricket teams. Enjoying yourself is more important than trouncing the opposition and that is a mantra we are firm on!

Despite the landscape of UK Club Cricket being ravaged by financial issues, lack of attendance and space and even vandalism, the Nomads have managed to successfully complete our seventh season of playing and even spawned a midweek t20 side. This is largely down to the efforts of members of the club frequently paying over the odds, in both terms of fiscal and effort, in order to field a full XI and provide our passionate squad with a decent game on the weekends.

The rental of our beloved pitch, Hilly Fields, the purchase of 2 quality match balls a game and transport to the ground; the price of which has increased steadily season upon season, has taken it's toll on our skeletal finances and we now recognise the need for an outside source of funding to grant our 20-or-so squad a chance of surviving.

We believe that a total of 1000 pounds would guarantee the survival of our club and keep us 'cricket tragics' on the field for at least another 3 seasons. It's important to us to stress that any contribution would be alongside the continued financial efforts of our members, rather than a replacement. We would also love to use this opportunity to invite more people to join us, we are always looking for players and much of our team's first experience of playing have been with us and they continue to play to this day.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing some of you down by Hilly Fields in summers to come, as a player or spectator.
