Weʼre raising £500 to buy a wheelchair for a dear friend of mine who is in desperate need of one after receiving a life changing diagnosis.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

I am trying to raise some funds to help a dear friend of mine who is in great need of a self propelled wheel chair. Seeing someone so full of life being restricted to being almost bed bound is utterly gutting. Sadly getting a wheel chair on the NHS isn't as easy as most would think & it seems to be a long and slow road so I am asking for peoples generousity to help change the life of someone who has so much to give.

I have set the goal at £500 but of course this is a lot to ask, I will be hugely grateful for any amount donated and put toward the best chair we can afford.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support in any way possible.

Much love - Holly xx

And to be under less pain and discomfort in waiting rooms. And the future looks like a lot more time spent in waiting rooms. But the future also looks a lot more like me getting a quality of life and independance back that I thought was way , way in the past. So thank you for giving me a chance. I aint done for yet. I really don’t know what to say. You are amazing and I am forever grateful from the bottom of my big fat heart. Cheers.

I was becoming more and more disabled and more and more depressed. Thank you so much to Holly, for surprising me with this wonderful gift. I am so shocked. This is a life changer! Having my own wheelchair will mean that I am going to be able to participate in so much more and hopefully pay for it less in the days and weeks afterwards, pain and flare up wise. I can now look forward to going to the park in the summer and have picnics with my younger siblings. To go to listen to live music. To go for a stroll to the local shop for myself .

Although the condition is not degenerative, there are many comorbid illnesses that are, and having been undiagnosed and untreated for a considerable amount of time, it is likely the damage caused is irreversible. Of course I was angry at the NHS for aggrevating my symptoms and offering no solution or support. I felt very lost, alone, and hopeless. I felt very much so like there was absolutely no point to my life as I felt excluded from every possible area of life that I tried to engage in.
