As most of you guys know, Colin my step dad suffers from MS multiple Sclerosis, a neurological condition. This has consequently lead to foot drop, which causes Colin to fall and trip over when walking. We have tried all of the devices and therapy’s supplied by the NHS to try and stop this from happening. Unfortunately, none of those have succeeded. Recently, we visited a specialist team for multiple sclerosis at Moulton College, where Colin was given many different alternatives for his issue.

We have now been supplied with a Functional electrical stimulation (FES) device to rent, which applies small electrical charges to the leg to improve mobility if you have difficulties with walking arising from damage in your brain or spinal cord.

This is not cheap. And to buy this device for him- it will cost us £5000. We cannot get this through the NHS and getting this by ourselves is totally impossible.

👣- So, I have decided to go on a sponsored walk, going around Draycot water for as long as my leg can manage (5 miles round each time). So let’s just call it a sponsored limp😂. Unfortunately, as I suffer from a disability myself I will only be going around two times. This will however take the whole day, due to my limp. I cannot put a price on Colin’s health, and will do whatever it takes to get this device for him.
