    Story

After 15 years of training and 10 years of broadcasting to the local community we have relocated to new premises. The move will keep us in the same location but in an empty Mill which will mean less rent is needed. We are rebuild our studios from scratch and have managed to raise money to allow the building to be started.

We work with a variety of people ranging from young volunteers, older volunteers, people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties, people with mental health problems, unemployed and retired people, disaffected young people, older people with life threatening illnesses and strive to find innovative ways of supporting people. We also encourage people who are socially disadvantaged to lift those barriers that may exclude them as well as interviewing representatives of community groups to come on to our programmes to discuss the work they do to eradicate problems from their communities and to support stronger communities.

In September the station received a national community radio award for best community project of the year. Everything seemed very positive until our FM transmitter broke down recently. We have a temporary fix but a new transmitter would help us to keep broadcasting the good work to the people of our community. However, we don't have any surplus funding to make this happen. £2,000 would help us to buy the transmitter we need.
