Story
I am going to abseil down Wainhouse Tower, the tallest folly in the world, an iconic, Grade 2 Listed monument that dominates Calderdale's skyline to raise money for The Mayor's Charity Appeal which is supporting Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, The Brighouse Rest Centre and Together for Looked-After Children.
If you can make a donation to help these charities that would be great! The abseil will take place on Saturday 29th April 2017, weather permitting with back-up dates of Sunday 30th April and Saturday 6th May.

7 years agoThank you all for your donations. I enjoyed (honestly!) every second of the abseil and am glad I was able to earn your very generous donation. As you can see you helped to go way past the original fundraising target for the three charities involved. Your support is very much appreciated. Regards, Ian

7 years agoExtremely grateful for the fantastic donations coming in; edging me closer to the revised target - and to the drop off the Tower!! Might be cancelled due to snow though?? Really hope not as looking forward to it. Ian

7 years agoThank you all very much for the donations. What are my chances of using the snap election as an excuse not to do it!! Only kidding, I'll definitely be there. 🤓
