Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal
Last years, Clarets cycle ride from Burnley to Bournemouth (over 300 miles in 3 days) raised £20,000, which funded a test day at Turf Moor, where 495 locals were tested.
41 men were found to have either a heightened PSA reading which needed medical attention or fully blown Prostate Cancer that required urgent treatment....!
This May, myself and 20 other Claret riders hope to replicate last years good work by riding the same route in reverse raising funds and awareness along the way, arriving back at Turf Moor for the final game of the season against Bournemouth.
I am riding in memory of John Bickerstaffe. A life long Burnley fan & a member of the Barrowford Clarets & Barrowford Celtic F.C., who died of prostate cancer in September 2017. He was a 'young' 59. A fun loving, family guy. Pleased donate to this great cause. Thank you.
