Story
Steve & I are cycling a 100 miles in one day on the 19th August 2017, this is a personal challenge for us both. After meeting Elliot & his family through Harry's football team and becoming friends with them we decided to raise money for Elliot at the same time. We hope you can give us the encouragement we both need to fulfil this challenge!!
Elliot's Story:
Elliot was born with Angelman Syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder characterised by intellectual and developmental delay. This means that Elliot has difficulties with learning, speech and language, swallowing and feeding, mobility and also often experiences seizures due to Epilepsy.
Elliot is now 7 years old and due to the continued love and support from his amazing family he is a very contented and happy young man, who continues to thrive. Elliot is full of fun and has bundles of energy with a smile that can light up any room!!
At present Elliot is receiving support from Legacy Rainbow House in the form of Conductive Education.
Conductive Education (CE) is a form of special education and rehabilitation for children with neurological conditions. CE aims to help children overcome problems with movement, thus enabling them to lead more active and independent lives. It is hoped that this support will empower Elliot to reach his full potential and maybe one day enable him to walk independently which would be an amazing and life changing achievement!
By continuing to support One Big Tickle, we are helping to ensure that Elliot can continue to access this vital specialist support in the future and also to provide him with the care and equipment that he will require as he continues to grow through his teens and into adulthood.
Any donation that you are able to make will be much appreciated both by myself, Steve and Elliot's family.
Thank you for taking the time to read Elliot's story.
