Run to the sun

Every year, InXpress UK have an annual convention attended by our network of over 100 franchisees. This year, it's in Portugal, so you would expect everyone to travel by air – wouldn't you?

Well, most of the network will be doing just that, but an intrepid trio will be risking saddle sore, and motorbiking from the UK to Vilamoura and back again, clocking up over 3,200 miles!

The journey will take four days each way and will not be an easy ride! Franchisee Neil Hatt (pictured below), who is leading the trio, biked to the same convention in Spain last year, and experienced "a trapped nerve, high winds, loose handlebars that started to rotate and the heavens opening". When he eventually arrived home he was "covered in bugs, dust, sweat and petrol, with wet clothes stinking out my bag!"

So, why are Neil, fellow Franchisee Mike Toal and UK Country Manager Jon White doing this? One of InXpress's core values is to Give Back, and throughout the year, the network raise money through various initiatives including everything from mud runs, to cake bakes, hikes, sky dives, donating a 'penny per shipment' every November and lots more!

This fundraising enables us to support charities, and in particular individuals in our local communities who are in need. For example, we were made aware of a young boy in Nottingham, Harry (pictured below), who desperately needed a new wheelchair which would enable him to get out and about, but the one of "his dreams" was over £2000. InXpress were able to pay for it and change his life.

Then there was Jessica, who was struggling, after giving up school to help care for her young autistic twin brothers. As she has a passion for acting and performing arts, we funded drama lessons and exams for her. Jessica got on really well with them, and in August 2021 her support worker told us "She has just got her GCSE exam results and she has done so well and passed them all. I genuinely believe that if it was not for InXpress funding the drama lessons for her, she would not have achieved the results she did".

The Gives Back Committee want to support many more individuals like Harry and Jessica, because we can truly transform their lives.
