The Iskele Dog Shelter is run by the local council but sadly it lacks many facilities and there is little finance or help. Many local volunteers have given up their time to go at weekends, when there are no workers there, to feed and care for the stray and abandoned dogs.

Due to the poor conditions within the shelter and limited resources, many of the dogs are malnourished and unwell. At the moment, there is distemper in the shelter and it is in lock down. The dogs are in urgent need of extra medication and, particularly, nutritious food.

If you are able to help at all by donating any money to go towards helping these poor dogs that, through no fault of their own, have been dumped, abandoned or left as a stray on the road to be picked up, we would be forever grateful. As will the dogs.
