Last year I began to support one of the many homeless shelters in Bracknell. This year I am giving up my time each week again to help.

Not all homelessness is through choice. People are affected by homelessness for a variety of reasons.

As well as the uncertainty of what life holds,homelessness can have serious impacts on emotions and a persons mental state.

For many of us it seems hard to imagine never knowing when you will next eat, wash or sleep especially somewhere dry. Thats where the shelter can offer support. We offer a hot meal, a warm bed for the night and companionship.

Often people attending the shelter arrive wet, we need to dry their clothes.

They need to wash their clothes, we can do this but need to be able to dry them afterwards.

I have set up this page specifically for the shelter I volunteer at in Bracknell. It will help our local homeless people directly.
